The outgoing Dutch Ambassador to Ghana, Ron Strickker, has bid farewell to President Nana Addo Akufo- Addo at the Jubilee House after his duty tour of the country.
Ron Strickker, who described Ghana as a beloved country, congratulated President Akufo-Addo on his reelection as President of Ghana and Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region.
He said his country had also supported Ghana in most of her development agenda, including the recent support for Ghana’s election to the United Nations (UN) Security Council
“I just want to say that we have appreciated our period in Ghana…our last 5years has been very fantastic”, he noted
Ron Strickker commended the collaborations between the two countries in agriculture, water and sanitation sectors, particularly the Government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Ambassador urged President Akufo-Addo to visit the Netherlands on one of his European tours as “we all in the Netherlands view Ghana, as a historical friend.”
On his part, President Akufo-Addo congratulated Ron Strickker on his successful duty tour of the country and described him as one of the liveliest members of the diplomatic community in Ghana.
He expressed his appreciation to the foreign envoy for his contribution to the development of Ghana. “We have lots and lots of regards for you for the works that you have done here.”
President Akufo-Addo expressed appreciation to Netherland’s support for the ongoing dialogue with the European Union about sustainable cocoa production in Ghana.
“We are clear in our minds that the support we are having from your government is commendable…we want to put on record our appreciation,” President Akufo-Addo stated.
